The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) in Rostock is looking to recruit an
Assistant Managing Editor (19.5 hours/week)
for the online journal Demographic Research.
Demographic Research (www.demographic-research.org) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal of population sciences published by the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany.
We are looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic Editorial Assistant to join the editorial team.
The role involves managing submissions through the editorial and production process, reading submissions, liaising with authors, reviewers, and scientific editors, maintaining the journal‘s database and its online and social media presence. Day-to-day administrative tasks will also be a significant element of the position.
The ideal candidate will have a near-native command of the English language, a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, as well as excellent administrative and software skills (Microsoft Office). Experience in the media and publishing sector would be desirable.
The position is to be filled as soon as possible. Remuneration is based on the salary structure of the German public sector (Öffentlicher Dienst, TVöD Bund, level 9a).
