Assistant Professor in Computer Science with focus on “Software Engineering Methods and Techniques” (Non-tenure track)
The University of St.Gallen is currently building up new degree programs in Computer Science with an innovative emphasis on entrepreneurship. To support and further continue these efforts, we seek a candidate for an Assistant Professorship in the field of of Software Engineering Methods and Techniques who is motivated by the unique opportunity to actively contribute to the development of the new School and building bridges with the other disciplines of our university.
Successful candidates have a PhD in Computer Science and potential to develop international recognition in one or several of the topics of the call. They bring sufficient academic maturity and sufficient independence in research and teaching as well as experience in third-party funding acquisition. In particular, enthusiasm for teaching and the development of new courses is expected to shape the upcoming Computer Science programs at the University of St. Gallen. The appointed assistant professor will be part of the newly founded School of Computer Science.
The university is searching for candidates with a strong research background in one or more of the following topics:
- Event-driven and process-oriented architectures
- Distributed software architectures
- Development of cyber-physical systems
- Human aspects in software engineering
We are looking for a team-oriented and committed personality whose research activities offer links to the Software Systems Programming and Development chair at the University of St.Gallen. Further responsibilities include course development and teaching on the undergraduate (preferably German) and graduate levels (English) within the degree programs of the School of Computer Science. For this position, we seek candidates per February 1st 2022 or by mutual agreement.
