International Giessen Graduate Centre for the Life Sciences (GGL)
The GGL provides an interdisciplinary, concisely structured graduate programme for all life science disciplines at the JLU, in the fields of Human and Dental Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition and Agriculture.
In the GGL, doctoral projects are embedded in topic-oriented research sections. Admission is international, and teaching is carried out in English.
The Doctoral Programmes consist of an experimental project combined with a three-year interdisciplinary graduate course curriculum leading to a dissertation. Each doctoral researcher will be supervised by two professors from different faculties and will benefit from our Doctoral Development Programme. Seminars and courses are conducted in English; German language courses are offered for international students. Depending on the project selected and own qualifications, doctoral researches will receive a stipend and be eligible to register for one of the doctoral degrees offered at the Justus Liebig University Giessen.
Applicants may choose between three interdisciplinary research sections: Protein and Nucleic Acid Interactions; Reproduction in Man and Animals; Chemical Design and Analysis of Molecular Systems.
A Master?s degree or equivalent is required for admission. Prospective research projects, names of supervisors and other information necessary for application can be found at:
