The Faculty of Arts at the University of Bonn invites applications for a
Endowed Professorate (W 2) for
„Cultural Heritage of Indigenous America“
funded by Deutsche Altamerika-Stiftung and the Faculty of Arts for a period of
5 years starting October 1st, 2020.
Based in the Section of Anthropology of the Americas, the to be appointed professor
will develop a new focus in research and teaching on the material and
immaterial cultural heritage of indigenous America, in particular Latin America.
This includes comprehensive scientific analysis and discourse relating to all
aspects of cultural heritage as well as legal, political and practical questions on
cultural heritage protection in Latin America. Excellent scientific qualifications,
outstanding organization and communication skills as well as experience in
raising third-party funds and contributing to research alliances and research
plans are required for this position. The appointed candidate is expected to
teach in German, English and Spanish.
Candidates are required to possess a relevant doctorate and post-doctoral
qualification (or equivalent achievements), preferably in Anthropology or
Archaeologies of the Americas. They will also need to demonstrate internationally
recognized research and publications on cultural heritage as well as
relevant teaching experience.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with § 36 of the NRW Higher
Education Act (Hochschulgesetz NRW).
