Full Professor (W3) in Human-System Interaction
and Cognitive Systems

The professor is expected to cover the area of human-computer
interaction in its full breadth in research and teaching including
computer science aspects of user interfaces for hardware and
software systems as well as related foundations of cognitive science.
The professorship was installed in the context of the Cluster of
Excellence "SimulationTechnology" with the intention to contribute
to the controllability of future simulation systems.This requires
readiness to participate in interdisciplinary cooperations with
experts from engineering, natural sciences, social sciences and the
humanities.
We are looking for an outstanding scientist with expertise in several
of the following areas:
- Fundamentals of perception and cognition for human-computer
interaction
- Multimedia communication and sensor-based interaction
- Innovative interaction techniques and modalities
- Intelligent user interfaces and interaction with autonomous systems
- Software technologies and development tools for graphical and
multi-modal user interfaces
- User interfaces for web-based and mobile systems
The professor is expected to provide excellent teaching in the area
of human-computer interaction in the study program Media Informatics,
other computer science programs as well as programs of the
Cluster of Excellence "SimulationTechnology".The professor is also
expected to contribute to the general teaching responsibilities of the
computer science programs, to actively acquire external funding,
and to participate in academic administration.The professor does
not need to have to be able to teach in German immediately but is
expected to acquire the corresponding language skills over time.

Württemberg university law apply.
