Systems invites applications for a
Junior Professorship - salary grade W1
for the field of "Mobile Cloud Computing".
The junior professorship is to be funded in the context of the Einstein Center Digital Future. The professorship is offered
under the reserve that funds are granted.

after successful evaluation / closing date for applications 13/10/16)
TU Berlin aims to strengthen the research and teaching in the area of "Mobile Cloud Computing". The
focus of research is set on the development of methods and technologies for seamless integration of cloud-based and
network-based infrastructures. The main goal is to replace the existing, centralized, tenant-based cloud systems through
decentralized, tightly integrated network-cloud systems, which can fulfill complex real-time application requirements.
Moreover, an integrated solution should guarantee the preservation of privacy requirements and allow the creation of
novel business models. Finally, innovative research directions such as computational offloading and crowd sourcing
need to be considered and deployed in context of new application areas such as virtual and augmented reality.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the curriculum in the study programs provided by the faculty on
computer science and electrical engineering.
Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance
with § 102a BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education in computer science, electrical
engineering, mathematics or similar, qualified achievements in research and a particular qualification for academic
work normally attested by the excellent quality of a PhD, and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be proven by teaching
experience and visualized in a teaching portfolio (for further information see TUB Website, quick as no. 144242).
Profound knowledge and experience are expected in several of the following areas:
Cloud und Mobile Computing
Integration of privacy preserving solutions
Additionally the applicants need to have profound knowledge in the stated working fields, experience in international
research cooperations (proven by stays abroad or significant participation in international projects).
