The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics as an institute of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (registered association) is the largest centre for fusion research in Europe with about 1100 employees in Garching near Munich and Greifswald. The scientists are investigating the physical principles for a fusion power plant which – like the sun – generates energy from the fusion of light atomic nuclei. The research is carried out in seven experimental and theoretical projects aimed at developing nuclear fusion into an inexhaustible and safe source of energy for the future.

Professional Assistant (f/m/div)
Supporting the Scientific Advisor
in managing and monitoring the publications database of EUROfusion;
in assuring the open access of papers funded by EUROfusion;
in preparing publications lists;
Communicating with the 30 Member Institutes of the Consortium in 28 European countries;
Performing consistency checks on the Publication Metadata;
Analysing, grouping and visualizing the publication data both with programs developed in house and/or with Microsoft Excel tools;
Data entry into the EC System for Grant Management (SyGMA) for continuous reporting on publications.
Publications are one of the major key impact factors of the EUROfusion Consortium. The responsibilities as the assistant are:
supporting the activities gathering all the publications which were funded by the Consortium by communicating with the beneficiaries.
documenting and archiving those publications.
prepareing statistics to support reporting
Your profile / Our requirements
B.Sc in natural or library science or equivalent work experience;
Aproximately three years of working experience;
Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel;
Good organizational and communication skills;
Willingness to learn the use of in house developed programs;
An excellent working knowledge of English.

The position is limited to two years. The salary is based on the assignment of tasks and qualifications and goes up to pay group 9c according to the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD Bund).
