SRH Hochschule Heidelberg is one of the oldest and largest private universities in Germany. It is state recognized and accredited by the German council of Science and humanities. Currently, 3, 400 students are enrolled at six Schools. The university offers future-oriented courses in economics, computer science, media and design, engineering, social, legal and therapeutic sciences as well as psychology. For our School of Information, Media, and Design we are seeking a Professor f/m/d Applied Computer Science, at 100 % (full-time), to round out our team. The position is limited for a period of two years with the possibility of conversion to long-term status.

Your Responsibilities:

• Holding compentence-oriented courses in the fields of Applied Computer Science, modern Software Engineering, Ergonomics and Development, Data Engineering as well as Cloud Computing mainly in the English-language Masterprogram Applied Computer Science
• Instructing the students in acquiring the intended competences, conveying the necessary course content using didactically suitable methods as well as grading the examination results
• Taking responsibility for modules in the two mentioned Master programs ranging from the selection and guidance of lectureres to the planning of sessions
• Supervising research and master thesis projects including student mentoring, partner management and publication of selected works in scientific journals
• Performing administrative tasks and participating in the academic self-administration of the university

Your Profile:

• At least three years of professional experience in the area of applied computer science or software application development
• Knowledge of the principles of modern software engineering and information system development, microservices, cloud computing, IT security, applied artificial intelligence, data architectures and analytics, usability engineering
• Practical and teaching experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, etc.
• Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus in software engineering and systems development
• Relevant publications and conference contributions in the field of computer science
• Teaching experience in a university is benefit
• Excellent English language skills
• Willingness to actively develop and accompany learning processes according to the CORE principle, as well as an independent and responsible style of working
