The German University in Cairo invites applications for vacancies to be filled effective October 2021 or February 2022.
The German University in Cairo is looking for highly capable and motivated applicants wishing to join the Architecture and Urban Design Program. The GUC architecture school was founded in 2010 and can now claim to be one of the most attractive programs in Egypt. Situated in Cairo, the dynamic gateway to the Middle East, the GUC Architecture and Urban Design program is growing rapidly.
Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate levels, develop ongoing and innovative research activities, and contribute to shaping this young architecture and urban design program. As a member of an international team, the candidate will be responsible for
- Conveying the fundamentals of building construction and building materials to students at undergraduate level
- Building technology-focused design studios and thematically associated elective courses at graduate level
- Advanced elective courses on innovative design
- Leading design studios at undergraduate and graduate levels
- The supervision of bachelor projects and master theses in the field of building technology
Building technology at GUC is characterized by an integrative design approach where building construction and technology is considered an essential part of the architectural design process. We encourage and support research activities in the field of building technology.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. preferably in the field of Building construction and Technology, OR have equivalent practical experience in building design with focus on innovative construction systems and excellent design skills are required and have relevant international teaching experience.
