The Faculty of Health Sciences – a joint faculty of the University of Potsdam, the
Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane and the Brandenburg University of
Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg – invites applications for the following position to be filled
as soon as possible:
Full (W3) Professorship for Mental Health
and Behavioral Medicine
We aim to fill this role with a medical doctor, psychologist or health scientist who has an
excellent, internationally visible research profile in the field of mental health throughout
the entire life span, who has demonstrated knowledge of behavioral medicine, and who is
successful in obtaining competitive external funding. In addition, we expect a research
profile that is compatible with existing research activities at the university and its extramural
research institutions, as well as clinical research on metabolic syndromes. Collaboration with
research activities in psychology and linguistics is desired. The professor will work in the
Faculty of Health Sciences, which is in the process of being established. The central research
topic of the new faculty is the medicine and health of aging.
The applicant should be able to be involved in teaching in new degree programs focusing
for example on Public Health, Exercise and Nutrition and to fully represent the subject to be
covered in teaching.
