The
Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) is a dynamic and internationally
focused university with a strong research orientation. Located in the heart of the lively Rhineland region,
H-BRS currently hosts over 8,000 students from more than 50 countries studying on 31 degree programmes. The
Department of Management Sciences currently offers degree programmes at both Bachelor’s and Master’s
level, ranging from Business Management (BSc) to Management Accounting and Control (MSc).
In connection with the establishment of a new English-language degree programme – International Business
(BSc) –, taught in Sankt Augustin and Rheinbach, the University is seeking to fill the following position,
initially
for a fixed term of five years, as soon as possible:
Professor of Business Administration,
specialising in International Financial
Management
(salary scale W2)
Candidates should possess extensive knowledge and experience in the relevant field and be able to apply these to
teaching, research and development in a practice-oriented manner. Particular skills and knowledge are required in
the following areas:
- International Financial Management
- International Management Accounting and Control
- International Financial and Cost Accounting
- International Finance
The candidate is expected to fulfil teaching duties under the provisions of the workload guidelines (“Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung”)
and to participate in national and international project work with other departments, companies and universities. Additionally,
the candidate will be expected to assume the responsibilities of Programme Director of the new International Business (BSc) degree programme.
Applicants must fulfil the following requirements:
- Outstanding academic qualifications (PhD) in both research and teaching in the discipline
- Aptitude for teaching and education
- Well-developed intercultural skills
- At least five years’ practical work experience in the above fields at management level in an international company. At least three of those five years must have been spent in a non-academic environment.
- Experience in carrying out research and development projects and publishing the results of such projects would be advantageous.
The candidate is expected to carry out teaching duties primarily through the medium of English. Candidates are also required to have
very good German-language skills. Proficiency in another foreign language is also desirable. The University prefers candidates who
can participate wholeheartedly in the further development of the University and the department, particularly in the areas of
international and interdisciplinary cooperation with industry and organisations. The ideal candidate should be willing to travel
internationally, including a substantial element of long-distance travel, and must demonstrate international experience gained
through work or study abroad. A willingness to relocate to the region is expected. The duties associated with this professorship
also include the advancement of research and development in this specific academic field and involvement in academic administration
(“Hochschulselbstverwaltung”).

The post to be filled is a professorship on the W2 BBesO W pay grade (national pay scale). Recruitment premiums and special performance bonuses
may be paid as additional salary components. The employment requirements of Section 36 of the HG NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Education Act)
apply. The position is suited to part-time employment.
