available from the next possible date for a
Research Assistant (m/f/d)
(salary group 13 TVöD; 39 hours per week)
for a limited period of 3 years.
Responsibilities:
The work is carried out within the framework of the interdisciplinary research project “Design and manufacture of breakwaters with a view to durability and reinforcement” funded by the HSU / UniBw H. The following topics are among those to be dealt with: Design and manufacture of breakwaters with a view to durability and reinforcement. The following topics, among others, are to be dealt with:
- Idealisation of the shaft loading with suitable equivalent loads
- Development of an innovative reinforcement concept with 3D reinforcement elements for the geometrically optimised construction
- Design of the steel / textile-reinforced concrete structure using non-linear FE simulation
- Development of the production technology including 3D formwork
- Production and execution of large-scale tests to verify the production technology and the load-bearing capacity of the developed construction
- Participation in teaching to the extent of basically 3,0 trimester-week-hour
- Possibility of further academic qualification (e.g. doctorate or habilitation)
- Carrying out general administrive work as well as academic activities in academic self-administration
Qualification requirements:
- A completed scientific university degree (Diplom [univ.] or Master) in civil engineering with good results, specializing in structural engineering
- Very good knowledge of English and German, both written and spoken
Furthermore desired:
- An existing interest in a doctorate, as well as in writing and publishing your own scientific essays for further personal qualification.
- A high degree of goal orientation, sense of responsibility, ability to work in a team and the ability to work independently
- Ideally, initial experience in the field of “numerical modelling” in civil engineering
- Pronounced interest in scientific work and the ability to teach

The employment is based on the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD) in conjunction with the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG). In principle, the activities correspond to pay group 13 (E13). However, the actual classification depends on the fulfilment of the relevant collective agreement and personal requirements.
Part-time employment is possible.
