The Vienna Cognitive Science Research Network "Vienna CogSciHub" is a temporary measure of the Rectorate of the University of Vienna and the Faculties of Psychology, Life Sciences, Philosophy and Educational Sciences, the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Sciences, the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Sciences and the Center for Molecular Biology. It promotes the establishment and growth sustainable, long-term, and internationally competitive focal point of interdisciplinary cognitive science and neuroscience at the University of Vienna and other Viennese research institutions.
We offer the position of PostDoc University Researcher by July 15, 2021. Employment is based on a contract for 3 years, with a possible extension into a total of 3.5 years. We offer a positive and stimulating research environment with experienced researchers, well-equipped labs (e.g., fNIRS, EEG, facial EMG, eye-tracking TMS, fMRI (in our Dept.), behavior measurements).

Extent of Employment: 40.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
In a new WWTF project “ Urban intervention with art in public space – cognitive attraction, resilience, or simply positive emotions?” We offer a three-year PostDoc position at the interdisciplinary Vienna Cognitive Science HUB in the team of Helmut Leder and Elisabeth Oberzaucher in the research field of cognitive and urban psychology.
The successful candidate will carry out field and laboratory experiments. These experiments will involve a wide range of methodologies. Eyetracking, both mobile and stationary, plus NIRS, EMG, and other physiological measurements will be combined with questionnaires and field observations. You will work closely with a PraeDoc employed within this grant and with the Team of Helmut Leder and Lisa Oberzaucher.
Profile:
- Doctoral degree/Ph.D. degree in a discipline that studies human cognition, such as Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience.
- Research experience with experimental methods (and ev. field studies in museums)
- Programming skills (e.g. Matlab, E-Prime)
- Knowledge of principles of teaching
- Excellent command of and expressiveness in written and spoken English
- Publications in renowned, subject-relevant media (peer-reviewed, depending on the professional standards)
- Pronounced ability to work in a team
- strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
Desirable qualifications are
- Experience with eye-tracking and/or neuropsychological and psychophysiological methods (e.g., EEG, facial EMG) is an advantage
- Programming skills (e.g., Matlab, E-Prime)
- Excellent command of and expressiveness in written and spoken English
- Publications in renowned, subject-relevant media (peer-reviewed, depending on the professional standards).
