The
Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
Tenure Track Assistant Professor
in »Digital Health«
to begin in winter semester 2018/19. The position is a W2 fixed-term position (6 years) with tenure track option to a tenured
W3 position (Associate Professor). The professorship is funded by the Federal Tenure Track Programme.
Scientific environment
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Informatics and is affiliated with the TUM Department of Sport and Health Sciences.
Further cooperation opportunities are expected to develop to the TUM Department of Medicine.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert
in the research area of Digital Health with a focus on investigating and implementing software ecosystems for accessing health data
(cloud, edge, fog architectures), for integrating precision measurement data with personal health advisory systems, for supporting
and optimizing decision making in health, or for user-centric applications in health as well as optimizing in silico combination
of data to connect medical treatment and preventive lifestyles as monitored by mobile apps. The teaching load includes courses
in the university’s bachelor and master programs.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at
the highest international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification
as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience
abroad is expected.
