Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
Tenure Track Assistant Professor
in » Learning Analytics «
to begin as soon as possible. The position is a W2 fixed-term (6 year) tenure-track professorship with the possibility for promotion to a tenured W3.
Scientific Environment
The professorship will be assigned to the TUM School of Education, with additional affiliation to the TUM Department of Informatics as well as with to the TUM EdTech Center and TUM DigiLLab. TUM EdTech Center and TUM DigiLLab offer shared services and core facilities.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of learning analytics, with a research focus on educational data mining, adaptive testing or scaffolding. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s bachelor’s and master’s programs. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to a research center for digital learning with educational technologies at the TUM School of Education, to establish TUM’s EdTech Center and to contribute to TUM’s DigiLLab.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international level. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected (please see
www.tum.de/en/faculty-recruiting-faq/ for further information). We expect full commitment to do interdisciplinary research and to focus on educational technologies. The initial ability to gain and to lead cooperative research projects, and to attract third-party funding (DFG, EU, AiF) is a prerequisite.
