The Division of Pharmacognosy at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is looking for a scientific co-worker (predoc level). Main research interests of the hosting group are the influence of bioactive natural products on the cellular stress responses as well as the intricate interplay between redox- and metabolic stress on the molecular level.
The employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
Your duties comprise the independent execution of a research project in the area of cell/molecular biology with focus on the potential regulation of Nrf2-dependent gene expression by the kinase AMPK and selected natural products. You are expected to participate in (independent) teaching activities defined by the collective bargaining agreement, to supervise BSc or MSc sudents, to be active member of the Doctoral School PhaNuSpo and to set up a dissertational agreement within 12 to 18 months after start. Moreover, you are supposed to participate in scientific paper writing and independently present your data.
Profile:
You have a master degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related fields. You bring along a deep interest in cell biology, especially in the dissection of signal transduction processes, and enjoy scientific work. Previous experience in relevant techniques, such as cell culture or expression analyses, are an asset, but no absolute need, in case you are interested in proactively learning new things.
