Future Launchers Preparatory Programme (STS-FF)

experts from the 22 member states of ESA - keeping your finger on the pulse of Europe’s space programmes. Over a period up to 24 months, you will
actively contribute to the latest research and/or technology projects. This is complemented by a generous scholarship. What better way to launch
your career in international space business? The next GTP commences on 1st February 2019.
In the Future Launchers Preparatory Programme (FLPP), the Technology team is in charge of developing key technologies with various industrial partners
all across Europe for enhancing the long-term competitiveness of European launchers and to enabling future space transportation systems. You will
contribute to the identification and assessment of a wide range of cutting-edge technologies pertaining to his/hers field of expertise, e.g. materials
and manufacturing processes for low cost and low mass structures, technologies for rocket propulsion or advanced avionics, navigation and control)
Joining the Technology team of FLPP, you will,
assess the needs and potential of new technologies for European launch vehicles and FLPP Integrated Demonstrators
develop and maintain the FLPP technologies innovation database to contribute to the teams effort in identifying and selecting potential technologies for future projects in FLPP
conduct surveys of rocket launcher technology activities worldwide with a special focus on the projects aiming at very low cost and reusability
participate to the preparation of technology development activities with industry and the subsequent industry follow up
work with a large degree of autonomy, accessing inputs as per relevance and liaison with the FLPP System and Demonstrator teams
present a progress status every 2 months
applicants should have a keen interest in rocket launchers and hands-on experience with technology development through student experiments, lab research, or through a prior relevant internship
German citizenship is absolutely necessary
applicants should have just completed (conclusion not older than two years) or be in their final year of a university course at Master's level in a relevant engineering field
candidates must be fluent in English and the ability to work effectively in an international team environment
applicants should detain basics of and motivation for project management
