The Max Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine, Clinical Neuroscience, invites applications
for a position as
Postdoc / Research Associate
for Mouse Behavior
(Background Biology, Psychology, Medicine or related fields)
beginning not later than November/December 2017
Highly qualified candidates with a clear commitment to basic and interdisciplinary neurobehavioral/neurocognitive research and a documented focus on mouse behavior are invited to
apply. The position requires co-supervision (together with the department head) of a devoted
and well trained team of PhD students and a technician, all experienced in the field of mouse
behavior.
Applicants should hold a PhD in biological sciences or related disciplines. The successful applicant
should be fluent in English, have a strong interest in promoting his/her own scientific
career in mouse behavior and in working in a multidisciplinary and international team. We
are seeking highly enthusiastic and ambitious individuals with particular interest in research
in the field of translational/clinical neurosciences. Specifically, the applicant would work on
novel mouse models of neuropsychiatric phenotypes, e.g. certain aspects of schizophrenia or
autism, with focus on higher cognitive functions and treatment strategies. Applicants ready to
work on developing new test systems/paradigms for disease-relevant cognitive phenotypes
are particularly welcome.
The Max Planck Society is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially
encourages them to apply.
Applications should be submitted, preferably via e-mail, to Prof. Ehrenreich, via the department
secretary, Mrs. Wiebke Timner, until October 15, 2017.
