Scientific laboratory manager (m/f/d) in the fields for low temperature transport and magnetic characterization
The Institute of Metallic Materials (IMW) of the IFW Dresden offers a new job as a
scientific laboratory-manager starting from October 2019. It is a full time job, part
time is possible by arrangement. The employment contract is limeted to 24 month.
Continued employment is possible within the available vacancies, if you are highly
qualified and bring in new ideas in the task. The salary will be based upon the TV-L
rules (TV-L, E13).
Technical and organisational management of all operational procedures for the
transport and magnetic characterization at low temperatures of the IMW. This includes
the coordination of measurement time, service, development of the equipment,
training and supervision of users;
Applicationrelated development of measurement procedures and protocols, development
of contacting procedures for different samples (bonding, pressure contacts,
deposition of electrical contacts etc.);
Contribution to scientific reports, publications, and research applications of the
research teams of the IMW where low temperature transport or magnetic characterization
Scientific administration and / or support of research projects where low temperature
transport or magnetic characterization is concerned;
Own research in the field of functional materials with emphasis on transport or
magnetic characterization at low temperatures.
The ideal candidate for this position has completed a PhD in Physics. He or She
has experience with the characterization of transport and magnetic characterization
at low temperatures. Experience in the operation of the equipment like physical
property measurements systems, Hall systems etc. is expected. He or She is highly
motivated, has a friendly and professional personal style and is fluent in English.
