The
Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
Tenure Track Assistant Professor
in »Laser based Additive Manufacturing«
to begin in winter semester 2018/19. The position is a W2 fixed-term position (6 years) with tenure track option to a tenured W3 position
(Associate Professor). The professorship is funded by the Federal Tenure Track Programme.
Scientific environment
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Mechanical Engineering. Important links exist to the TUM Departments of Physics, Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as Chemistry.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the
research area of Laser based Additive Manufacturing. The teaching load includes courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest
international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical
aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
